Alignment comprises a series of works that explore balance and spontaneity. For Emily, creating these collages has become a vital part of her practice, helping to keep the principles she considers essential to her creativity alive. Through them, she explores her intuitive sense of colour, experiments with composition and balance, and discovers simplicity through retraction and play. Many of the artworks take multiple forms before settling into their final compositions, while others are created in an instant.
